EAGLE

Eagle is a conveyor of power and messages from the spiritual side of humankind. It is a symbol of the importance of honesty and truthfulness in all things. It signifies freedom and courage. 

In nature, Eagle is an avian raptor, a bird of prey, with an up to eight foot wing span. It mates for life. It has been important in many cultures around the world. In Native American cultures, it is the symbol of the Thunderbird, a sacred messenger from the gods. It is symbolic in the Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religions. In the Hindu religion it is depicted as Garuda, the mount of Vishnu, the god of preservation. In the Buddhist tradition, it is a protector of dharma.

The Eagle totem brings great strength and courage. It is the symbol of the element Air. An Eagle totem brings balance in all dimensions and helps to achieve inner growth. It carries a strong force of will that allows it to soar into the spiritual realms and remain grounded in reality. Those with an Eagle totem are often high functioning, successful, influential, and status-oriented.  One with an Eagle totem sees the big picture, takes action and communicates with ease. They are respectful, responsible, and strong in every way.

An Eagle dream or vision may mean it’s time to reconnect with one’s spiritual being. It may indicate a desire to explore new areas or grow in either the physical or spiritual world. If the Eagle is flying, it may be a sign that good fortune is coming. It may also be a message from one’s higher consciousness. If the Eagle attacks, it may be a reminder that you have self-imposed limitations that need to be released.  If it is perched, it may be a reminder that there is a need for self-examination and introspection.
